Cloud-based Persistence Services for MMORPGs

چکیده
Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games represent very complex applications, and their growing popularity makes them an important commercial factor in the entertainment area. However, the need to fulfil very highlevel technical and user requirements makes the development a risky task. We address these issues from a data management perspective with services to support the management of a persistent game world along with other data sets. The main focus of this contribution is to investigate how scalability and a sufficient level of consistency can be achieved by using and extending Cloud-based technology.
